Getting Rid of Stray Cats
Unfortunately, there is no secret formula or spray to magically rid yourself of these pesky and dangerous animals. Don’t fall for some wildlife expert selling you some predator’s urine, saying that cats are afraid of the smell because it won’t work. There are stories that say mothballs or a rag soaked with ammonia will work, but biologists have proven that this isn’t true.
The only way you can get rid of stray cats is to trap and then subsequently remove the wild animals from your area. Call a professional whose job it is to remove wild animals. Often animal control will do this for you, but if not there is usually someone in your area (a hunter perhaps) that will know how to catch the stray cats and then take them away. Just remember that when you do remove them from your land you can’t just drop them across the street, they must be taken far enough away where they can’t find their way back. This is usually 5-10 miles at minimum.
